Major Keyhoe was a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy & the officers' school of the Marine Corps. He wrote many interesting books about ufology (the studies of unidentified flying objects), but the book that was ESPECIALLY handed to me by none other than the now deceased COLMAN VON KEVICZKY, was the book under question....Colman told me to pay particular attention to Chapter nine: 'GIANT SPACESHIPS', so it is to this chapter that we first focus our review...."
RED LETTER DAY: (The Astronomical Station near Kazan)...where on July 18, 1967, an enormous crescent-shaped craft (at least eight times large than any known airplane)was spotted by the observatory. It flew at an incredible speed; at Kislovodsk, on August 8th, another huge flying crescent race over the Soviet Astrophysical Station. The diameter of the crescents were between 1640 & 1840 feet with their speed estimated at 11,160 mph.
MEANWHILE...previously in THE UNITED STATES (1953) giant spaceships were operating near our planet. [[THIS DID NOT MAKE THE 'NEW YORK TIMES'!]] The Air Force[AF] were astonished to pick up a gigantic object orbiting near the equator. Its speed was almost 18,000 mph. It was circling the earth ~ 600 miles out!!! MEANWHILE ~ another enormous object went into orbit at 400 miles out!!!
[[JUST LIKE IN SCI/FI MOVIES...] a famous scientist (Dr. Clyde Tombaugh-who discovered PLUTO) was put in charge of a "sky sweep" project at White Sands, NM. This project was a combined army forces project under Army Ordinance Research.
In 1954 ~ NEW DEVELOPMENTS: On May 5th, two huge objects maneuvered at high altitude over Washington, tracked by radar at National Airport. The next day Navy radar tracked an enormous machine circling 90,000 feet above the capital. On June 12th, another giant ship ~ or the same one ~ made a night appearance, hovering at 79,000 feet between Washington & Baltimore.
In 1955 - Stuart Alsop, (syndicated columnist) revealed the intensive search for the "ARTIFICIAL" satellites!?!...[[SPUTNIK had not happened yet.]] This disclosure [PREDICTABLY] angered top officials at the Pentagon & the National Security Council. [[note: These agencies were exposed for their true "FUNCTION" in Richard Dolan's book ~ much later ~ "UFOs & the National Security State.]]
THE LAST GIANT SPACESHIP: 'PHOBOS' ~ not on Earth, but in orbit around Mars. How do we know it is not simply a moon? In 1963, a high NASA official, Raymond H. Wilson, Jr., (Chief of Applied Mathematics) told the aerospace scientists that Phobos goes around Mars faster than the planet turns on its axis. THIS COULD NOT HAPPEN "NATURALLY"!
[[Many years later, Zecharia Sitchin wrote a book called, "GENESIS REVISITED" in which he relays the fascinating story of PHOBOS II, the Soviet space craft that tried to take pictures of the "moonlit" but SOMETHING prevented it from doing so. One is led to believe that that 'something' was a SPACECRAFT in the vacinity of Mars in 1989!!!]]
UNKNOWN FORCES: (Chapter two) There was a very convincing
case noted by Keyhoe that concerned a James Flynn [my mother's maiden name, so I took an interest in this Flynn.]
He was a rancher & dog trainer, who on March 14, 1965, had an encounter with a 75 foot diameter cone-shaped UFO which was also almost 30 feet high. This happened while he was camping in the Everglades. A beam of light from the UFO patially blinded Jim, and he was left unconscious with a bruise on his forehead as well as an impairment of deep muscle & tendon reflexes.
The AF was ready to cry, "HOAX!" when a NICAP investigator checked the area to find that the things reported by Flynn had a signature about them that would have been virtually impossible to fake (besides his injuries)...i.e. "scorched treetops" ~ "scuffed places...on treetrunks" both of which indicated that something heavy was about thirty feet above the very ground James Flynn had just happened to encounter what he described as a UFO!!![[I guess it just hangs there as another "mute" example that something is OUT THERE---at least in the EVERGLADES!!!]]
SEEDS OF PANIC: (Chapter seven) One of my favorite personal early stories is the one about Arthur Godfrey's close encounter with a UFO because I saw him on TV all the time when I was a kid, and his experience was similar to a former Jet pilot who encountered a strange UFO while flying in the Atlantic Ocean....As for Godfrey, he was flying an executive jet toward Philadelphia with his co-pilot, Frank Munciello. The UFO came up fast on his right wing, then swung over to Arthur's left wing, and for the next few tense minutes, he could not 'shake' the UFO regardless of what maneuver he tried. As for his credentials, Keyhoe notes:
Not only was Godfrey a national celebrity, but he had flown Navy, Air Force & commercial planes, including jets, and he was rated an expert pilot. To top this off, he had held the rank of colonel in the Air Fforce Reserve.
[[One can only speculate what would have happened had Godfrey encountered the same UFO in the swamps of the Everglades...and becoming unconscious from an "attack" of a UFO....All I know is, it would have made for great 'coffee-table' discussion on his national TV show!?!]]
THE CRUCIAL QUESTION: (Chapter eleven) Well, I have a question for the viewer of this site who may be wondering: IF THERE IS SO MUCH DARN EVIDENCE FOR THE REALITY OF UFOs, THEN WHY IN TARNATION DOESN'T THE GOVERNMENT COME CLEAN???
THE ANSWER: [[THEY'RE SCARED OF SOMETHING BIG-TIME...AND THEY KEEP THEIR AF PILOTS SCARED also from COMING FORWARD....Let me site just one tragic example from this chaapter alone.]]
The CAPT. PETER W. KILLIAN case: In February of 1959, three unknown flying objects were sighted over Pennsylvania & Ohio by the crews of six airlines. One of the UFOs paced Killian's plane - not once-but twice, the second of which may have caused a hazardous situation. Killian's sighting was confirmed by another United pilot, but it was Killian who sounded off about it publically. The AF made up not one--but two---lame-brain stories, both of which Killian was easily able to answer, but then, THEY SILENCED HIM so that he was no longer able to defend himself....[[The AF has the power to do these things via stringent military regulations that can heavily fine &/or imprison those who go against its wishes; TALK ABOUT YOUR STACKED DECK!]]
Of course, in this case, Killian was working for AMERICAN AIRLINES who had pressured their employee because of the pressure put on them by the combined wishes of both the AF & the PENTAGON....KILLIAN WAS THE SCAPEGOAT. Of course, when the other pilots saw the fate of Killian, there was an understandable reluctance to render further UFO reports....NOT NO HOW...NOT NO WAY!!! [[Things haven't changed much from 1959 through the present...NO, NOT MUCH!]]
THE UFO BEINGS: (Chapter thirteen)[[Although this information PERFORCE- can not be as comprehensive as other books-based on other revelations POST 1973, nevertheless, Keyhoe alludes to a very interesting book, the "BOOK OF DZYAN" ~ which I remember from my research, was mentioned by H.P.BLAVATSKY, as being the most ancient of ET encounters.]]
Keyhoe quotes thusly from the book, which he had considered among the oldest of chronicles of India....
"These beings lived to themselves and were revered by the humans among whom they had settled. (THEY HAD COME TO THE EARTH MANY THOUSANDS OF YEARS AGO, AND HAD CIRCLED THE EARTH SEVERAL TIMES BEFORE LANDING.) But eventually differences arose among them and they divided their numbers, several of the men & women & some children settling in another city, where they were promptly installed as rulers by the awe-struck populace....
The ETs rose in the air in their "huge shining metal vessel."...where they launched "a great shining lance that rose on a beam of light"...that "burst apart in the city of the enemies with a great ball of flame, that shot up to the heavens, almost to the stars."
[[THE EFFECTS~CLASSIC RADIATION DEVASTATION]]: The people were horribly burned ~ while those who looked upon the "LANCE & THE BALL" were partially blinded; those who entered the city by foot became ill & died and eventually, the city crumbled to dust, naught to be remembered....
[[If the viewer remebers the insightful book by Zecharia Sitchin, "THE WARS OF GODS & MEN",(AVON BOOKS-1985) a similar devastation took place in and around SUMER in 2024B.C.which, just like the above, sent a devastating "evil wind" that caused the civilization to disappear, naught to be remembered...UNTIL MUCH MUCH LATER...as Sitchin and others, brought it BACK TO LIFE!!!]]
